The meeting commenced with a land acknowledgement. A motion to amend the agenda to include a discussion concerning a councilor's criminal conviction and continued service as a volunteer firefighter was defeated. The meeting was subsequently adjourned after the loss of a quorum during the vote on the agenda approval.
The council received several reports for information, including those regarding restricted acts, administrative activities, hazardous waste collection days, and a drinking water inspection. Additionally, the council voted to support a resolution advocating for increased provincial funding for public libraries and considered a proposal for a prescription diversion project. The council also enacted a by-law to enter into an agreement with PUC and passed a confirmatory by-law to finalize the proceedings.
The council discussed various reports including administrative activities, a variance report to July 31st, and waste collection schedules. The meeting included the reading and consideration of by-laws, specifically regarding agreements with Hybla Consulting Corporation and Circular Materials Ontario, as well as a by-law to regulate speed on Pronto Road. Additionally, a closed session was held to discuss personal matters and legal advice subject to solicitor-client privilege. The meeting also addressed municipal staff reports and motions.
The committee discussed several operational and maintenance topics for the cemetery. Reports were accepted regarding a shed, a monument and bench purchase, a delivered bench, new signs, cemetery chairs, and tree removal.
