Edina Planning Commission Planning Commission Meeting
The commission reviewed a sketch plan proposal for the redevelopment of the former public works site at 5146 Eden Avenue. The proposed project features a mixed-use development comprising a 6,000-square-foot retail and restaurant space, four three-story condo buildings, and two five-story condo buildings, totaling 54 residential units. The development team emphasized a 'village' concept with a central green space, pedestrian pathways, and a focus on activating the corner of the site. Discussions touched on zoning variances required for setbacks and building height, the need for parking and traffic studies, and the integration of the site with the surrounding Grand View District.
