The document details the Manhattan College Undergraduate Commencement exercises for 2024. Key components included the procession featuring faculty marshals, the presentation of the College mace and its symbolism rooted in the Institute of the Christian Brothers' core principles (respect for all people, quality education, inclusive community, concern for the poor and social justice, and faith in the presence of God). The procession also highlighted the graduating students from the Koo School of Arts and Sciences (founded 1853, awarding 289 degrees), the School of Engineering (established 1892, awarding 182 degrees), and the O'Malley School of Business (founded 1927, awarding 43 degrees). The event included remarks from the interim Provost serving as Master of Ceremonies, an invocation by the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, and the conferring of degrees by the president upon recommendation of the Deans, following approval by the Board of Regents of the State of New York and the Board of Trustees. The ceremony recognized the hard work of the faculty, staff, and administration, acknowledged the support of family and friends, and presented the Donald J. Cardi Valedictory Medal to the outstanding graduating senior, Mr. James Washington III, who delivered a speech recounting his journey from a challenging background, military service, and his decision to pursue a career in nursing.

The Dean of the Oali School of Business provided an overview of the school's history, various majors and specializations offered (including economics, finance, and business analytics), accreditations (such as AACSB and CFA recognition), faculty research contributions, and student extracurricular activities like competitions. The program director for entrepreneurship detailed the structure of the competition, noting that over ten teams were reduced to the final six, and introduced the panel of expert judges. The presentation for the 'Vive View' application detailed a solution to take the guesswork out of nightlife by providing live streams of bars, addressing pain points for both bar-goers and owners, and outlining its technology stack (TypeScript, React Native, SGS). The team discussed their go-to-market strategy targeting college communities and major East Coast party schools, and detailed how potential investment funds would be allocated to hardware, sales/ambassador programs, and marketing. Judges inquired about channel distribution and compensation models for sales personnel.
